Shaping my identity through films
My name is Erika Lanzafame, and I make movies because I believe they can help people heal.
As a child, I enjoyed watching movies. Once I grew up, my love for films has evolved into a highly
personal creative practice that serves as the foundation for my artistic identity. My work is
based on personal experience, as well as social problems. My background in journalism
increased my awareness of emotional and social divides in the globe.
My visual style is built around sound, symmetry, and warm color palettes. I want to use film to
create quiet areas in which individuals may be open and reflect on their social lives.
